Parking Enforcement

Council’s parking enforcement was reinstated across the Boroondara City Council from 11 January 2021.

You may have noticed a more relaxed parking enforcement approach had been applied in residential areas and time restricted zones in and around hospitals, medical centres, Centrelink offices, shopping precincts and under-utilised car parks since April 2020. Ticket parking machine fees were also suspended in paid parking areas to assist traders, shoppers and visitors. This approach was in accordance with an easing of parking enforcement adopted across councils during the COVID-19 pandemic.

With State imposed restrictions having eased, the community is opening up again, giving rise to increased movement and associated demand for parking, especially within shopping precincts.

Having regard to the increased demand for car parking and the need to create more vehicle turnover to accommodate balanced access to parking, Boroondara City Council has restarted parking enforcement and this means compliance is required.

Although we don’t have parking ticket machines at Greythorn, in case you’re anywhere else in Boroondara, they were re-activated on 11 January 2021.
